The Blood Diamond Movie
The 2006 Blood Diamond movie is a thrilling drama starring Leonardo Dicaprio. The setting of the Blood Diamond movie is Sierra Leone in Africa during the civil war of the 1990's.

Leonardo DiCaprio plays Danny Archer, an African mercenary who has made his living by trading diamonds for arms in conflict torn Africa Djimon Hounsou plays Solomon Vandy an African who has been forced to work in the diamond fields. He finds and hides the rare pink diamond Jennifer Connelly plays an American journalist called Maddy Bowen who has travelled to Sierra Leone in Africa to investigate the trade and corruption surrounding 'conflict diamonds' also called 'Blood Diamonds' from where the movie takes its title The plot centres around the recovery of the pink diamond by the main characters in the movie.

The Blood Diamond movie was directed by Edward Zwick and the screenplay and story was written by Charles Leavitt and the soundtrack composed by James Newton Howard.
